Q: Do I need a particular family relationship to join Eastern Stars?
If you are a Mason in good-standing or a women with specific Masonic affiliation YOU can become a MEMBER! These affiliations are as follows:
- Step-sisters of affiliated Master Masons in good standing, (or of deceased Master Masons who were in good standing at the time of their death)
- Members – either active for three (3) years, or majority of International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, or the International Order of Job’s Daughter. Each of whom have attained at least the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
Q: I have a petition, now what?
A: Petitions shall be signed by the applicant and recommended by two members of the Chapter in which the petition is placed. A fee will accompany the petition. Petitions are read at a stated meeting and referred to a committee of three (3) for investigation. The petition shall lie over at least one meeting. If the investigative committee returns with a favorable report, the petition is voted on and if approved you will then be initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star!
Q: I was a member, but I let my membership lapse, can I rejoin?
A: A member who has been under suspension for non-payment of dues for less than (1) one year, may pay the current year’s dues plus a fee of $2.00 (providing no charges have been preferred).
A member who has been under suspension for non-payment of dues for more than (1) one year, may pay current year’s dues plus a fee of $2.00, if upon a secret paper ballot at least three-fourths (3/4) of the members voting consent to such reinstatement.
Q: When does your chapter meet?
A: We meet the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month, except July and August.
